Leah Sugarman is the Chief Operating Officer at the Counseling Center Group, where she oversees operations for a network of psychotherapy practices united by a common mission: to provide effective, short-term, evidence-based care for clients, while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for therapists and staff. Leah plays a pivotal role in integrating teams and departments, ensuring smooth operations that allow the organization to meet its goals and expand its reach.
Leah joined the Counseling Center Group in 2019 after years of experience working in operations and strategic development for private practices in the mental health field. During her time at the Counseling Center Group, Leah has partnered with the Founder, Marjorie Kreppel, to expand from a single location to a company supporting multiple teams of therapists across various markets. This growth has been deeply fulfilling, allowing the Counseling Center Group to bring its gold-standard quality mental health services to more communities.
Leah is passionate about continued learning and professional development, using these tools to improve as a leader and contribute to the organization’s culture. She believes in the power of mindfulness and conscious leadership, which guide her approach to both personal and professional life. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes candor, authenticity, and open communication, recognizing that addressing underlying issues fosters stronger relationships and more effective collaboration.
A Bethesda, Maryland native, Leah is dedicated to making a positive impact on her local community. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, cooking, spending time with family and friends, practicing meditation, volunteering, and exploring topics related to consciousness work.
