Eleanor Cummins,LMSW

Eleanor Cummins is passionate about getting evidence-based psychotherapy to clients in a way that’s timely, identity-affirming, and culturally sensitive. Eleanor works with young adults and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, insomnia, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). She also provides comprehensive support to those struggling with self-harm, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and emotion dysregulation.

Eleanor is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Social Work, where she was a member of the DBT Training Program, in collaboration with Behavioral Tech Institute. Eleanor has received additional training in DBT-Sleep from Honest Sleep and in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) through the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute. She is skilled in exposure and response prevention (ERP) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Prior to her work as a therapist, Eleanor earned a master’s in science journalism at New York University. Her reporting illuminated the impact of chronic pain, reproductive health, and climate change on mental health.

She continues to write about emerging issues in psychology and psychotherapy.
