Sarah is a licensed Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. She obtained her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University and is working under the supervision of Dr. Mirian Campos, LPC and Victoria Mwongela, LCPC/LPC. Sarah was born and raised in the Middle East, surrounded by cultures converging at the crossroads of the world. This experience has provided her with a unique multicultural lens that promotes curiosity and compassion, which she brings into her practice as a clinician.
Sarah believes that everyone deserves a chance to move through the hardships in life with a strong support system and come out the other side with skills that they can continue to carry with them. Her mission is to help others gain a strong sense of self, supporting them through their journey by understanding their lived experiences and using evidence-based techniques. She aims to create a collaborative, transparent, and safe therapeutic environment for all her clients.
She is passionate about working with individuals and couples from all walks of life who are seeking to find their place in the world, develop stronger relationships, and create meaning from their experiences. Her clinical interests include working with third culture kids (TCKs), LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent clients, and immigrants. Sarah has experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, challenging family dynamics, disordered eating, self-esteem, and trauma.
Prior to pursuing counseling, Sarah received her BA in Psychology and Philosophy from Dickinson College, which taught her the value of reflection and learning to ask critical questions. During her time as an undergraduate, she was part of research teams that studied the effect of bicultural identity on wisdom as well as important psychological factors in close personal relationships.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys live music (pop punk and metalcore, in particular), listening to podcasts, experimenting with sweet and savory recipes, and crocheting. She also finds great fulfillment in spending time with those near and dear to her heart.
